On December 15, 2019, the Digital Economy and High Quality Development Forum and the 2019 Postdoctoral Academic Seminar were held in Beijing. This meeting was jointly organized by the State Information Center and the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Yunnan Province. Keynote speeches were made by Wang Yiming, Vice President of the Development Research Center of the State Council, Yang Xueshan, former vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Zheng Jianhua, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Ni Guangnan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.  Zhang Xueying, SIC Vice President chaired the meeting and delivered a speech. Wang Xiao,  head of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, Deputy Director-General of Overseas Staff and Expert Service Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and Zhao Yongping, Director-General of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Yunnan Province, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. The head of enterprises such as Yunnan Tobacco Industry Co., Ltd. and post-doctoral representatives of the SIC made theme exchange.

Vice President Zhang Xueying pointed out that this seminar was held in an important period of in-depth study and implementation of the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the Central Economic Work Conference. The theme of digital economy and high-quality development is of great significance. Speeches from attendants with clear viewpoints have an important guiding role in broadening the post-doctoral vision and improving research capabilities. I hope that post-doctors will study carefully and fully absorb them. Post-doctoral workstations should be based on national strategies and major research topics, produce more high-quality research results, contribute an important force to the construction of think tanks, and improve the effectiveness of serving the NDRC.  

In his speech, Wang Xiao pointed out that since the establishment of the SIC Post-doctoral work station, it has continuously improved the research rules and regulations, and formed a distinctive model with outstanding achievements. The China Postdoctoral Science Foundation attaches great importance to post-doctoral academic exchange activities. This post-doctoral academic seminar focuses on the digital economy and high-quality development, makes an in-depth discussion on major issues facing the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial reform, which is a thorough implementation of the Party Central Committee with significance.
