National Conference of Economic Information System Convenes in Beijing

National Conference of Economic Information System was convened in Beijing from 22-23 Nov. Ning Jizhe, Vice Chairman of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) attended the conference and delivered the important speech. Cheng Xiaobo, President of SIC made the keynote speech.

Ning Jizhe said, the establishment and development of SIC and national economic information system was under the care of party and national leaders, and also the party committee of the NDRC. The system has played an important leading role in pushing forward national economy and social informatization during the past three decades. In recently, centering on the core functions of NDRC, SIC has made significant progress in the following three aspects: firstly, by taking the opportunity of big data development, effective and efficient work has been done in big data application and decision-making support; secondly, building the national e-government platform by integrating the data infrastructure, data access, sharing & exchange and business collaboration; thirdly, improving the capability in economic forecasting & monitoring and informatization research with the aim to growing into a comprehensive think tank.

Cheng Xiaobo reviewed the history of national economic information system and summarized the total business of SIC and the national system by analyzing the opportunities and challenges. He pointed out that both SIC and the national system shall focus on building the newly think tank system against the context of new era and huge transformation, building an integrated service system around NDRC, building the e-government platform system in accommodation to digital government, and exploring the business under the new round of industry transformation.

SIC’s Vice President Ma Zhongyu made the conclusion remarks, while the Vice President Zhou Min introduced the progress of national e-government network. Heads of information centers from Neimengu, Fujian, Jiangxi, Nanjing exchanged experiences.
