The 2018 Internet Security Development Trends Symposium, organized by Editorial Office of Journal of Information Security Research of State Information Center, was held on the afternoon of October 29, where Vice President of SIC, Ma Zhongyu, was present and delivered a speech. Wang Xiaoyun, a well-known cryptologist and academician of Chinese Academy of Science, Director of the Journal’s Editorial Board, and Wang Dongming, member of Academia Europaea, Professor of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, made keynote reports.

Vice President Ma Zhongyu delivered a speech.

Ma Zhongyu said, the Journal of Information Security Research, over the 3 years of its existence, has insisted on the right direction, high-quality requirement that holds a high bar, reported the research results and most recent applications in internet and information security from home and abroad, actively served the country on the national strategy of internet power. The journal has exhibited special characteristics and merits, while won recognition from the industry and academia.

Vice President Ma said, the Journal, guided by the spirit of 19th CPC National Congress and national security strategy, has reported in-depth about the avant-garde technologies, issues of highlight and attention, key areas in internet security, and provided promotion service and technical support in building a powerful nation of technology and internet, digital China and smart society.

Wang Xiaoyun, Academician and Director of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Information Security Research, delivered a keynote speech.

Wang Xiaoyun said, the digital economy, with the key drive of information technology in productivity growth and economic structure optimization, plays a vital role in high-quality development and government management efficiency. Meanwhile, the fast change in new technology also poses severe security challenge to digital economy. She said, a good application of cryptogram technology can supply digital economy’s fast development with security assurance, and deliberated the applications in cryptogram technology in the cases of AI, Biometric recognition, block chain and other new technologies.

Chief Engineer of SIC, Editor in Chief of the Journal, Li Xinyou, said the Journal will continue innovation in discipline construction, academic project, expert views, with a focus on national internet power strategy and internet security industry development, and be pioneering, practical and applicable.

The forum discussed cryptogram analysis, AI and safety, 5G communication safety, block chain and other leading topics, and trends in internet security industry development. Over 270 people from the ministries, experts, scholars, and representatives from the business attended the event.
