On the morning of September 25, Cheng Xiaobo, Secretary-General of the Party Committee and President of the State Information Center, met with Li Huidi, Vice President of China Mobile Communications Group. The two sides exchanged views on the research, deployment and cooperation of the blockchain service network.
President Cheng Xiaobo first welcomed the visit of Vice President Li Huidi and his delegation and introduced the funcation of the SIC in the fields of smart city, big data, digital economy and information technology. In recent years, SIC has actively promoted the research and application of next-generation information technologies such as the Internet, Internet of Things, big data, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and 5G, and proposed overarching framework of blockchain for supporting the real needs of smart cities and digital economy development. The overall planning and top-level design of the chain service network, with the strong support of China Mobile and other partners, initially completed the deployment of the blockchain service network nationwide, and will provide a trusted service carrier for the construction of smart cities and the development of digital economy in China.
Vice President Li Huidi expressed his gratitude to the SIC for the continued support, and introduced the business of China Mobile in 5G, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data, edge computing, etc.. Desire for further cooperation in areas such as blockchain service networks is expressed as well. He said that under the overall planning guidance, China Mobile will fully support the construction, service and operation of the blockchain service network and support the high-quality development of China's economy and society.
Shan Zhiguang, Director-General of the Information and Industrial Development Department of SIC & Director of the Smart City Development Research Center, explained the research background, operational mechanism and significance of the blockchain service network, and generated a first-level root certificate of the blockchain service network representing SIC under the witness of the participants. Gao Peng, Vice President of China Mobile Communications Group Design Institute Co., Ltd., generated a second-level root certificate for the blockchain service network on behalf of China Mobile. The generation of the root certificate marks the transfer of the blockchain service network from the research and development to the trial operation.
