Source:Comprehensive Management Department Date:2021-04-17

Led by the State Information Center(SIC) and composed of participants from related ministries and research institutions, the Chinese delegation attended the online workshop of OECD Economic and Development Review Committee (EDRC) for the Economic Review of China (2021) on March 29th and 30th. Zhang Xueying, Vice President of the SIC and Head of the Chinese Delegation, attended the workshop and delivered a speech.

Zhang Xueying first introduced Chinas economic development under the influence of the pandemic in the past year and key tasks in the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. He said that the Economic Review of China has tracked the domestic policy changes and pandemic-influenced economic recovery of China closely, giving full play to the advantages of OECD in comparative analysis, which shall be conducive to the understanding, both at home and abroad, on Chinas real economy under pandemic influence. The judgement that China is taking the lead among the major global economies for the positive growth and shall make a greater contribution to global economic recovery, is also in alignment with the views of major international economic organizations.

The workshop was convened online with representatives from 37 OECD members and international organizations such as the EU and the Bank for International Settlements; representatives from Chinese ministries and commissions, including the National Development and Reform Commission(NDRC), the Peoples Bank of China, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and the State Administration of Market Supervision; and representatives from Chinese research institutions like the Chinese Academy of Macroeconomic Research, the Chinese Academy of Fiscal Sciences and the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Cooperation. At the workshop, the representatives from OECD member states put forward their opinions and suggestions on the Economic Review of China, while the Chinese delegation responded to their queries, made explanations to some judgments in the report and gave suggestions for amending.

Zhou Yiren, Deputy Director-General of the Comprehensive Management Department, SIC, as the Executive Deputy Head of the Chinese Delegation, attended the workshop.
