OECD Chief Economist Visited SIC

Xu Qiang, President of SIC met with Ms. Clare Lombardelli, Chief Economist of Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the delegation on February 19th, 2024. The two sides discussed and exchanged views on topics such as China’s macroeconomic situation and deepening cooperation between SIC and OECD.

Xu Qiang welcomed the delegation first and called for joint efforts by the two sides to push forward the launch of the next Economic Survey of China. Xu pointed out that China’s economy has its uniqueness, and hoped the OECD to step up exchanges with a variety of sectors and industries in China to disclose its inherent rules and  future development trend in an objective way.

Niu Li, Deputy Director-General of Economic Forecasting Department of SIC, introduced the current macroeconomic situation with perspectives of supply and demand, investment and consumption, and employment and income.

Ms. Margit Molnar, head of China Desk, OECD was accompanied. Xiao Xiuli, Director-General of Comprehensive Management Department, SIC and other colleagues attended.
