SIC President Liu Yunan, Vice President Zhou Min, Zhang Xueying, Xu Changming and Wu Wenhua made the field research in the data center of National E-Gvovernment Network(NEGN) in Langfang, Hebei Province on March 1st. Staff from General Office, Comprehensive Management Department, Public Technical Service Department and the operation and maintenance teams participated.

They learned the operation of the infrastrcutre, including the ECC monitoring hall, the main control room, data rooms, shielding rooms, cold source rooms, the UPS room, administrative office, storage rooms, canteen and dormitories. They also listened to briefings from responsible departments and O&M units, with an emphasis on daily operation, safe operation, cabinet allocation and utilization, resident staff management and security work.

Liu Yunan said that as the key infrastructure of NEGN project II, the Langfang data center needs to continuously upgrade its operation and maintainence, strengthen capacity building in network and data security, improve its management system, and innovate operation models to support the policy implementation of Digital China, building China into a network power, and building an integrated national system of big data centers and channeling more computing resources from the eastern areas to the less developed western regions. Liu also urged the data center to provide computing resources support and services guarantee for core tasks of e-government and Smart NDRC, key projects and platforms, and also better data environment for SIC’s stepped-up efforts in building an information-based innovative think tank, a research, application and management center of data factors and a research highland in smart technology.

The Langfang data center was launched in March, 2016 and passed the final check in September, 2021. Since then, the cloud computing platform for NEGN, data center, monitoring center and other supporting facilities were put into operation successively. With the improvement in operation, management, technical services and logistics, the Langfang data center is capable to provide high-quality services for government agencies.
